Instructions
Task 1
List some of the preferred facilitation techniques you or your co-workers use in the organisation, including details on how it is done. In time, you can create a precious workbook for yourselves.
Task 2
This assignment requires you to develop a set of debriefing or reflection questions for a hypothetical workshop or group activity. Focus on using facilitation techniques to encourage deep reflection and meaningful discussion. Your questions should be open-ended, promote critical thinking, and relate to the activity’s goals.
Consider different aspects such as participant feelings, learning outcomes, and experience application. You’ll also need to explain the rationale behind your choice of questions and how they align with effective facilitation strategies. This exercise aims to enhance your skills in fostering reflective learning and group dialogue.
- Post-Workshop Reflection: “How do you feel the activities today have changed your perspective on teamwork?”
- After a Group Discussion on Environmental Issues: “What was one key insight you gained from today’s discussion, and how might you apply it in your daily life?”
- Following a Leadership Training Session: “Can you identify a moment during the session when you felt challenged, and how did it contribute to your understanding of leadership?”
These examples provoke thoughtful reflection and encourage participants to connect their experiences with broader concepts and personal growth.
Finally, create a non-exhaustive list of debriefing/ reflection questions to use in all your activities.
