FITT is a partner in the Power Youth Up project. The project aims to create partnerships for creativity in the field of youth to make creativity and active European citizenship (REA) more efficient, starting at the Community level. The project strengthens the role of youth work in building Europe using methodologies focused on youth development through creativity and gamification. The project contributes to the development of critical thinking related to the rights of young people, and they can freely express their opinions on issues that concern them.
The project focuses on creating methods that encourage creativity, experimentation and active participation locally, both online and on-site. It includes assessments of acceptable needs and practices, the use of digital facilitation and the creation of methods to develop young people's creativity and critical sense.
At the same time, the project will include a joint strategy with local authorities to streamline community spaces, engaging and connecting young people through youth work methods and youth activities.
It creates environments to enhance young people's creativity, resilience and participation, equipping them with tools and skills to develop innovative and creative solutions to unprecedented risks and societal changes. We want to develop the expressiveness and creativity of young people and fight against fear of failure, encouraging creativity and active experimentation.
At the same time, Power Youth Up empowers youth workers, leaders and organisations to engage young people better using digital tools and platforms.
The project is built on the project «LINHA – Participação Juvenil em Comunidade Locais», which aimed to make the voice of young people have space to be heard through initiatives for skills development, awareness and consultation. The project focuses on developing pedagogical methodologies, skills and resources to empower community centres and NGOs in the post-COVID-19 crisis to plan and implement new strategies to cope with similar crises and social distancing using on-site and online dimensions.
Power Youth Up proposes the implementation of the European Youth Strategy in community centres to make them more attractive to young people, promoting safe places for experimentation, personal expression and creativity development and stimulating critical thinking. Therefore, the project is compatible with the priorities of promoting youth engagement and empowerment, promoting quality, innovation and recognition of youth work.
